Beviss & Beckingsale Challenge Cup

It may have been the start of the Premier League season but all eyes were on Axmouth Football Club last Saturday when Axmouth took on Waytown Hounds of Dorset in the friendly pre-season “Beviss and Beckingsale Challenge Cup”. Beviss and Beckingsales interest lay in the fact that Paul Watkins (our Probate and Wills and Trusts specialist from the Seaton Office), is a regular member of the Hounds and Dave King our “Mr Fixit” is a big supporter of Axmouth FC.

It was end to end stuff, both teams playing well, in front of a small but appreciative crowd. Paul, who was named honorary captain for the day, played a blinder, and despite relentless Axmouth attacks all afternoon, it was Waytown Hounds who ran out the winners with two goals scored, one from open play and one from a penalty. Axmouth, who may have considered themselves unlucky, played the gallant losers and hosted the most welcome refreshments at the end.

The firm donated funds to both teams and Seaton Partner Mark Ollier presented a trophy to the winners.
