The End of HIPS? 

The government has suspended the use of Home Information Packs with immediate effect from 21st May 2010. Homes marketed for sale on or after 21st May 2010 will no longer require a Home Information Pack (HIP). 

The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) (a linked element of the HIP packs) will be retained. Sellers will still be required to commission an EPC, but they will no longer need to have received an EPC before they place their property on the market.
