    Nigel Cole is our senior partner and specialises in property and commercial work. Having trained in London, Nigel moved back to Devon as a litigation solicitor to join the practice in 1971. He became a partner at Axminster in 1976 with the late Bruce Beckingsale and John Beviss. He is proud of the practice’s growth in size and the complexity and breadth of work. Nigel’s experience and legal expertise is enhanced by his extensive knowledge of the area.

    He is a court-appointed mediator and legal adviser to, and trustee of, a number of local organisations.

    Nigel is married to Susie and they have three children, Sarah, James and Gemma. They live in Lyme Regis where Nigel has a wide range of interests. He enjoys travel.

    Nigel has extensive experience in both residential and commercial conveyancing with a particular emphasis on commercial and country transactions.

    Mark was brought up in Reading. He studied law at Leeds University and began his legal career in Birmingham before moving to Beviss and Beckingsale in 1986. Having run the Colyton, Honiton and now the Seaton offices of the firm he has a wide range of clients across East Devon.

    Mark lives near Ottery St Mary with his wife Jane and 2 children Joanne & Michael. Mark is well known in local amateur dramatic and operatic circles both as performer and producer. He is also a keen golfer.

    Mark is the Head of our Residential Property Team and has extensive experience in both residential and commercial conveyancing with a particular emphasis on commercial leases.

    Mark was born and brought up in Somerset.  He now lives in Colyford, near Colyton with his wife Helen and young son Sam. 

    Mark joined the firm in 1996 and became a Partner in 2000.  He is based at the firm's Axminster office and deals with all aspects of property work as well as advising local businesses and farmers.   He assists local organisations on a voluntary basis - the Seaton Hospital League of Friends, The Health & Local Food For Families Charity and Kilmington Cricket Club amongst others.    He is also a member of the Axminster Chamber of Trade and Agricultural Law Association.  

    Mark does enjoy life out of work.   He enjoys all country activities but his particular passion in life is rugby.   He played rugby up until a few years ago when a serious knee injury ended his rugby playing days.   He now helps with the coaching at Sidmouth Rugby Club where his son Sam plays in the under 14 team.  

    Mark has extensive experience in both residential and commercial conveyancing with a particular emphasis on agricultural work and is the Head of the firm's Country Homes Team.
