The Shute Festival 2019

Posted by Mark Carlisle on September 25th 2019 in AGRICULTURAL AND RURAL AFFAIRS .

Beviss & Beckingsale are delighted to support the Shute Festival which was established in 2016 to bring inspirational speakers to this beautiful part of East Devon.  In addition to talks, visitors have also enjoyed film showings and music events, as well as food cooked by local chefs served in the village school.

All profits go to towards Shute Community School and the building and repairs of St Michael’s Church, Shute.

Mark Carlisle says, “I am delighted that we support this festival.  This year we sponsored the talk by Angela Gallop CBE.  She is one of the world’s most eminent forensic scientists and has been involved in the Yorkshire Ripper investigation and with her colleagues has helped to solve some of the UK’s most high-profile cases, including the murders of Stephen Lawrence, Damilola Taylor, Rachel Nickell and the Italian Banker Roberto Calvi.  She has also been involved in investigating  the murder of Ivy Batten, a resident of Shute herself, and has concerns about the court’s decision.

The presentation was absolutely fascinating and the church was packed.  I feel it is very important that we help to support these local events which help our communities to thrive.”
