Paul Watkins

Partner

Paul is a Partner, member of the Private Client Department and manages our office in Seaton. He qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and joined Beviss & Beckingsale in 2010.

Paul has specialised in private client work for over 12 years. His expertise includes wills, Inheritance Tax planning, setting up and advising on trusts, administering estates and trusts, creating powers of attorney, acting as an attorney, applying for appointment of deputies, and charity law.

His work has involved representing a client to obtain NHS continuing health care to pay for their care home fees in full, which were in the region of £800 per week. Paul has also recently administered a complicated estate and multiple settlements linked to it, all with substantial Inheritance Tax payable.

Paul has acted for clients to set up vulnerable beneficiary trusts for children, and created lifetime trusts and will trusts to help clients pass assets to the next generations of their families. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Devon and Somerset Law Society.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys playing football and has previously been captain of a team in the Perry Street league, which covers Devon, Somerset and Dorset. He also likes swimming in the sea, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
